UltraFleet CK-4 15W-40 is a low-SAPS diesel engine oil for compatible commercial vehicles and off-highway equipment. Product Description

UltraFleet CK-4 15W-40 is a low-SAPS heavy-duty engine oil for commercial vehicle and off-highway diesel applications.

It is formulated for applications requiring API CK-4 performance and is designed to support engine cleanliness, wear protection and control of deposits under demanding operating conditions.

Its low-SAPS formulation also makes it suitable for compatible engines fitted with diesel particulate filters and other exhaust aftertreatment systems, where a lubricant of this specification and viscosity is required.

HGVs & Commercial Fleet

For trucks and commercial vehicles requiring a low-SAPS SAE 15W-40 heavy-duty diesel engine oil with API CK-4 performance.

Off-Highway Diesel Equipment

Suitable for compatible construction, quarrying and other off-highway diesel equipment requiring a 15W-40 heavy-duty engine oil.

DPF-Equipped Diesel Engines

For diesel engines fitted with diesel particulate filters and other exhaust aftertreatment systems requiring a low-SAPS lubricant.

Common Questions

API CK-4 is a heavy-duty diesel engine oil performance category covering areas such as wear protection, deposit control, oxidation stability and exhaust aftertreatment protection.

It is a performance category rather than an approval for every engine. The required viscosity grade and any additional lubricant requirements must still be confirmed.

Low-SAPS refers to controlled levels of sulphated ash, phosphorus and sulphur. This type of formulation is intended to support compatibility with suitable diesel particulate filters and exhaust aftertreatment systems.

The presence of a DPF alone does not confirm suitability. The engine must also require or permit SAE 15W-40 oil meeting API CK-4.

It may be suitable where the engine(s) requires or permit an SAE 15W-40 lubricant with API CK-4 performance.

Suitability should be confirmed using the vehicle’s service documentation, taking account of the required viscosity grade, performance category and operating conditions.

API CK-4 provides service coverage for several earlier heavy-duty diesel categories. However, that does not make it a universal replacement.

The required viscosity grade and any additional performance requirements must also be checked before changing products.
