Product Description

Gem Synthetic LSX C5 0W-20 is a fully synthetic, low-SAPS engine oil for modern passenger cars and light commercial vehicles requiring an SAE 0W-20 lubricant.

Its low-viscosity formulation is designed to support fuel efficiency while providing wear protection, deposit control and reliable lubrication during cold starts. The performance profile includes protection against low-speed pre-ignition and timing-chain wear in turbocharged direct-injection petrol engines.

The oil is also designed to help control piston and turbocharger deposits and maintain compatibility with petrol and diesel particulate filters and catalytic after-treatment systems.

Applications

Modern Petrol and Diesel Engines

For compatible passenger cars and light commercial vehicles requiring an SAE 0W-20 engine oil with one or more of the listed performance categories.

Turbocharged Petrol Engines

Provides protection against LSPI and timing-chain wear in compatible turbocharged direct-injection petrol engines.

Exhaust After-Treatment Systems

Low-SAPS formulation suitable for compatible engines fitted with petrol or diesel particulate filters and catalytic after-treatment systems.

Workshop & Fleet Supply

Common Questions

Low-speed pre-ignition is an abnormal combustion event that can occur in some turbocharged direct-injection petrol engines, particularly under low-speed, high-load operation. The resulting pressure spikes can cause engine damage. API SP and ACEA C6 include performance requirements addressing LSPI protection.

It is intended for compatible modern petrol and diesel passenger cars and light commercial vehicles requiring SAE 0W-20 and one or more of the listed performance categories. It is not suitable for every engine using a 0W-20 oil; the complete requirement must be checked.

Its low-SAPS formulation is designed for compatibility with modern exhaust after-treatment systems, including petrol and diesel particulate filters. Suitability still depends on the exact viscosity and performance category required for the vehicle.

ACEA C5 and C6 are light-duty engine-oil categories for low-viscosity, low-SAPS lubricants designed to support fuel efficiency and compatibility with modern exhaust after-treatment systems. ACEA C6 also includes performance requirements relating to LSPI, wear and turbocharger compressor deposits
